Kastinys is a traditional ancient Samogitian food made on the basis of dairy products: sour cream, sour milk, butter, garlic, salt, and spices.
In 2010, the Samogitian kastinys was granted the status of the Culinary Heritage Foundation.
It was made in Samogitia during pagan times.
